Subject: R.B. Stall Career Symposium Invitation (December 5, 2013)
Dear Friends,
While I understand that each of you has already received this invitation once. The R.B. Stall Career Symposium (December 5, 2013) is in desperate need of volunteer speakers.  Unfortunately, the current number of volunteer speakers falls significantly below our goal of 70 volunteers.
Each of you has been incredibly supportive of our efforts to expose the students from our SIG schools–Burke, St. John’s, and Stall High Schools–to various career options and opportunities across the Lowcountry.  Your time and efforts have been incredibly impactful in preparing our youth for their future careers.
As I am sure you are aware, The Opportunity Next: Strategic Plan Summary lists workforce development and education as one of five priority actions for the Charleston region. Additionally the report reminds us, “Every resident has an opportunity to participate in the region’s progress. Suggestions include: volunteer at local schools, get your company involved in and advocate for public education.”
As each of you has answered the call to be involved by volunteering in SIG schools, I am once again asking you to consider participating in one or more of the 2013-14 SIG Career Symposia:
R.B. Stall High School – December 5, 2013
Burke Middle High School – January 15, 2014
St. John’s High School – March 27, 2014
Your invitation to the R.B. Stall Career Symposium is attached.
Please feel free to forward this email and attached invitation to any Charleston Area resident whom you feel would be interested in participating in a SIG Career Symposia.
Thank you for considering participation in one or more of the SIG Career Symposia as a way to support Lowcountry progress and support our SIG schools. I look forward to your response as to which of the planned Symposia dates and locations best fits in your schedule.
